Tiffin Glass Collectors celebrate 30 years

Image removed.The Tiffin Glass Collectors Club, along with the Tiffin Glass Museum, is held its annual show and sale at the Tiffin Middle School Saturday and Sunday, June 20-21. This year marks the club's 30th anniversary, and the 30th Tiffin Show and Sale. New this year, a Tiffin glass workers' reunion was held on June 18. Image removed.The 2015 glass show took place at Tiffin Middle School, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. The show featured Tiffin Glass and all types of American glass, with national dealers, a raffle, and lunch available on site. Founded in 1889 as A.J. Beatty & Son's Company, the Tiffin Glass House shut down production is 1980. On Thursday, the TGCC held a reunion for former Tiffin Glass House workers at the Tiffin Glass Museum. The museum at 25 South Washington Street displays more than 2,000 Tiffin glass pieces, most of which are loaned by TGCC members. Other opportunities to view and learn about glass in Tiffin: Crystal Traditions, with live glass blowing demonstrations and a large display of glass items for sale; the Tiffin Art Guild offers classes in glass crafts and displays glass pieces; the Tiffin Music and Art Festival features glass blowing, crafts, classes and sales; Red Raven Tattoo Gallery occasionally hosts a glass blower and shows art pieces; and the Diane Kidd Gallery at Tiffin University sometimes displays glass pieces.
