The Tiffin Boutique Hotel Group announced today that they are seeking local investors and limited partners for the planned Gibson Hotel in Downtown Tiffin. As the planned redevelopment of the Historic Hotel Gibson, the group has established a concept that embraces and incorporates the dramatic features already present on site such as the original staircase and skylight. Featuring 25 enlarged rooms and suites and two retail locations on the ground floor the new Gibson Hotel concept will represent an anchor of Downtown Tiffin. The original partners will remain involved in the project for a minimum of five years after opening, but long-term would like to have someone local to Tiffin or Seneca County take over the hotel.

At this point the Tiffin Boutique Hotel Group has accomplished much of the groundwork required for a project of this scale. Certified experts have inspected the foundation, roof, and exterior walls and determined that they are in acceptable condition. Additionally, the group has completed important conceptual work, preliminary architectural drawings, and determined that the building is eligible for federal and state historic tax credits and other incentive programs.

Director of Downtown Revitalization Amy Reinhart said: “This project is an important component of the continued restoration of Tiffin’s historic downtown. The Gibson Hotel redevelopment will create a new overnight option in the heart of our community while providing additional retail space for our entrepreneurs.”
