Second United Church of Christ[/caption] Second United Church of Christ awarded $10,000 for roof project TIFFIN, OHIO – April 17, 2018 – The Architectural Board of Review has approved a Façade Enhancement Grant for the Second United Church of Christ, located at 156 Jefferson St., leaving $584 remaining in the city Façade Enhancement Grant fund for 2018. The church was approved for a $10,000 grant for an estimated $60,000 roofing project. With the two Façade Enhancement Grant approvals at the previous ABR meeting, this leaves just $584 available for the remainder of 2018. Last meeting, the building at 172 E. Market St. was awarded a $10,000 grant for door replacements, and tuck pointing. The project is part of a larger building renovation estimated at $36,900. Additionally, a residential property at 19 Coe St. received a grant of $4,250 for a $8,500 roof replacement project. It was the first residential project to receive a grant since the program was amended to include single and two-family dwellings in 2015. Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz applauded the success of the program. “With the next project, the fund will likely be depleted for the year,” he said. “As always, I am pleased with the progress we have made in downtown revitalization through this program.” These three grants bring the total number of project approvals year-to-date to 12 and the total investment in downtown building improvements related to the Façade Enhancement Grant for 2018 to more than $570,000. About the Façade Enhancement Program This City of Tiffin reimbursement grant program was started in 2014 and provides a 50 percent match of funds for eligible exterior improvements on residential and commercial structures within the downtown historic district, up to $10,000.
